WiscCharge



WiscCharge allows departments on campus to develop storefronts on the internet and receive credit card payments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using a stable, fast and secure server.

How WiscCharge works (text description)

 The customer browses the storefront and submits an order. The order information is passed along to DoIT's secure Web server, using a 128-bit encryption secure server certificate. The order is completed after the customer provides credit card information. The order is sent along to ViaKlix, who either authorizes or denies the transaction. The customer receives a confirmation or denial message.

The merchant gathers daily transaction information from the ViaKlix Administration web site. This information is used to perform daily reconciliation.

WiscCharge setup process

  1. Get your dean/director approval to establish e-commerce business.

  2. Review Business Services' on-line resources.
  3. Contact Brian Busby 262-9110 for an e-commerce consultation.

  4. Meet with Business Services and Firstar representative to fill out a registration form for a merchant ID (Meeting coordinated by DoIT).
    • ViaKlix Merchant ID requires one time $99 purchase fee
    • ViaKlix monthly maintenance fee: $8

  5. When ViaKlix contacts merchant with ViaKlix ID, meet with DoIT again to integrate storefront with Merchant ID.
    • Required to pay a one time $300 DoIT Store Front Integration charge. 
    • Monthly costs:  $0.75 per Successful Transaction, No Monthly Fee.

Merchant Responsibilities:

What Merchant gets:

  • Access to a secure, stable e-commerce web server
  • 128-bit key encryption for credit card transactions
  • DoIT Help Desk Support, 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week
  • Access to an online database of transactions
  • Merchant can get form results via email (using PGPEmail), if desired
  • Customers receive email receipt of transactions 

Additional Services:

  • Storefront creation - project pricing. Storefront work is charged per hour basis.

WiscCharge Pricing/Rates:

  • DoIT Setup: $300 One Time Store Front Integration Fee, $0.75 per Successful Transaction, No Monthly Minimum Fee. -- Storefront work is charged per hour basis -- $65 per/hour
  • Mastercard: 1.92% of Purchase, 19¢ per Ticket, 11¢ per Authorization.
  • VISA: 2.03 % of Purchase, 19¢ per Ticket, 11¢ per Authorization.
  • ViaKlix: $99 One Time Startup Fee, $8 Monthly Fee.
