Applying for Service

How can I get an account?

  1. Read the Policies & Eligibility section above to make sure you're eligible for service and to ensure that you're aware of all applicable UW-Madison policies.
  2. Decide on a URL for your site.
  3. Contact your billing/accounting office for direct UDDS billing information i.e. Fund, UDDS, Activity, Account (optional) -OR- DoIT number to pay for the web account. You'll need the direct UDDS funding or DoIT Number to complete the application.
  4. Submit the on-line request form

NOTE: It usually takes 2-3 working days to create a new account.  Accounts with a new virtual host/domain - Ex: webname.wisc.edu first require approval/setup from the Campus Hostmasters.
