The Division of Academic Services
(DAS) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has a long history of using
technology to provide better campus history. As a result, DAS had a 20
year old mainframe Student Administration System (SAS) in need of
upgrading. In 1995, DAS began a strategic planning process that
eventually led to the implementation of the PeopleSoft SAS in late
1999. The Integrated Student information
System (ISIS) project would be a large, enterprise-wide effort that
would make fundamental changes in university business processes and
would require ongoing coordination. The challenge was to give everyone
touched by the project a single point of contact for up-to-date
information. The new site (top left image http://www.isis.wisc.edu/) would
have to be database-driven to insure that all information was current
and accurate. Administrative screens (left middle image) allow the
project to manage News, FAQs, Directory, Committee, e-Letter, File
Registry, Web Link, Headers,Categories and Audiences. The Training site
(lower left image) allows the project to manage a Directory, Coaches,
Committees, New Students, Files, Courses, Classrooms, Attendance,
Trainees, Reports, Roles and Modules. For more information, call Tech Consulting at 265-SHOW(7469) or send
