The Wisconsin Health Alert Network is
a communications system for Wisconsin's Public Health departments,
hospitals, clinics, emergency rooms, laboratories, law enforcement, EMS
and other heath agencies. It is funded by a grant from the US
Centers for Disease Control and prevention with the goal of improved
communications infrastructure for all Wisconsin Public Health Agencies
and their partners. This is done by: (1) Fostering high-speed and
dedicated internet connections for our local public health agencies, (2)
Creating a secure web site and emergency messaging system for
communications among health agencies for bioterrorism and all other
public health threats and (3) Establishing a distance learning
capability to foster greater public health organizational capacity and
public health professional development. Manage a large amount of dynamically
changing material maintained under tight security control. The General
public can view content that has been moved from behind the security
perimeter of the HAN here at the 'Front Porch' of the
website. The new site ( https://www.han.wisc.edu/ ) would have
general navigation for My HAN (portal), About HAN, Contact HAN, HAN
FAQs, Add to HAN, Feedback, Admin and Development. It would use
database-driven web objects for managing Surveys, Directory, Libraries,
Messages, Training, Presentations, Calendar, News and Links.
Subscriptions, Site News and What's New (middle screen). For more information, call Tech Consulting at 265-SHOW(7469) or send
