Examples of Voice Mail Greetings

Example #1 - Routine Greeting With Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am unable to answer your call at this time. After the tone, please leave your name, phone number and a detailed message and I will get back to you as soon as possible, or please press zero if you need immediate assistance.

Example #2 - Routine Greeting Without Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am unable to answer your call at this time. After the tone, please leave your name, phone number and a detailed message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Example #3 - Routine Greeting If On the Phone (line is in use by you) With Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am on the phone. After the tone, please leave your name, phone number and a detailed message and I will get back to you as soon as possible, or please press zero if you need immediate assistance.

Example #4 - Routine Greeting If On the Phone (line is in use by you) Without Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am on the phone. After the tone, please leave your name, phone number and a detailed message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Example #5 - Away From Office With Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am unable to answer your call at this time. I will be away from the office until [date], but I regularly check my voice mail. After the tone, please leave your name, phone number and a detailed message and I will get back to you as soon as possible, or please press zero if you require immediate assistance.

Example #6 - Away From Office Without Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am unable to answer your call at this time. I will be away from the office until [date], but I regularly check my voice mail. After the tone, please leave your name, phone number and a detailed message and I will get back to you a soon as possible.

Example #7 - Extended Absence Greeting With Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am unable to answer your call at this time. I will be away from the office from [date to date] and will not be regularly checking my voice mail. If you wish to leave a message, please press 0 to be transferred to a [support staff person] who can take your message or assist you. This voice mailbox has an extended absence greeting, and you cannot leave a message.

Example #8 - Extended Absence Greeting Without Operator Escape*

This is [your name] and you have reached my voice mail because I am unable to answer your call at this time. I will be away from the office from [date to date] and will not be regularly checking my voice mail. If you need to leave a message, please contact [contact information]. This voice mailbox has an extended absence greeting, and you cannot leave a message.

 

*Operator escape (pressing zero for an operator) is an enhanced feature and must be explicitly requested.
