Repair & Desktop Support

Who we are and what we do

DoIT installs, repairs, and supports computer and networked systems for students, faculty, staff, and departments at UW-Madison

Hours

Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM.
For assistance, call our service line at 263-RADS (263-7237). After-hours (on-call) or emergency service is available, but Emergency rates apply.

Location

We are in the Computer Sciences Building which is located at 1210 W. Dayton Street. Computers may be brought to the general-purpose Service Desk, at which trained DoIT technicians will determine whether a computer requires software support (managed by Advanced Desktop Support) or hardware repair support (managed by Repair and Desktop Support). Customers needing wheelchair accessible entrances should enter from the Dayton St. or Union South entrances. A very limited amount of parking is available in the turnaround near the Union South entrance.

We provide free equipment pickup and delivery for departmental campus (non-residence halls) locations - take advantage of this free service! On-site repair of your equipment is also available. With the exception of printers, there is a $35 service fee for on-site repair cases.

Billing

Services are available by contract or on a Time-and-Materials basis. We are authorized to provide warranty service for Apple and Dell computers and HP laser printers. We also offer prepaid WiscCare service plans to ensure your coverage is what you need. T&M services can be paid at time of service through DoIT Number, pro-card, purchase order, credit card, check, WisCard, or cash.
