Report all data breaches

If your personal safety is threatened, you call the police. Data breaches demand the same level of response, and campus policy requires that data breaches be reported. That means any incident where there is a reasonable belief that unauthorized persons may have accessed sensitive UW-Madison information, such as Social Security numbers, personal health information, and student data. If you or others in your unit notice suspicious activity or events, contact University Police, the DoIT Help Desk, or your local IT staff and department management.
