Don’t lose access to campus services

A new Wiscard and identity proofing process was designed in 2008 to increase campus security and provide better access to campus services. As a result, Wiscards issued since that time carry a 5-year expiration date. The Wiscard is your official UW-Madison identification card that provides access to services like the libraries, DoIT Tech Store, recreation facilities, and other campus services.

Cardholders of soon-to-expire cards will begin to receive email notifications 60 days in advance of their expiration date. The first notifications will go out mid-April for cards expiring in June. In addition, campus photo IDs predating the new Wiscard will also expire. These cardholders will receive notification emails asking them to get the new Wiscard. However, old cards can be replaced now.

Cardholders will be instructed to renew their cards by visiting the Wiscard Office at Union South (see office hours here). Details are available on the Wiscard website.

Watch for your email and don’t lose access to in-person campus services!
