Some aspects of our WiscCal migration to the new, interim WiscMail calendar solution have not gone as smoothly as planned. Although DoIT is not experiencing any significant load on the calendar servers or the database, the servers are having some performance issues. Problems affect all clients (WiscMail Calendar Web, Thunderbird/Lightning, etc). Symptoms include:
- slow performance when working with multiple, heavily-scheduled individual calendars
- some repeating events are not displaying
- a third of the resources (meeting rooms, equipment, etc.) were missing as of yesterday; they were re-loaded last night and are now available
Techs have been working with Oracle to address the web-based issues first. We will let the campus know when these issues have been fixed.
Several groups have requested additional training on the proper setup and use of the new WiscMail calendar feature. Six additional PTE classes have been scheduled and the Help Desk is processing requests for on-site help, as needed.
We apologize for these problems and appreciate your patience.
