Security
Campus wireless offers both SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and non-SSL connections. You get to choose.
Transmissions without SSL are unencrypted and can be viewed by other computer users. Your wireless traffic travels over public airwaves, similar to cell phone traffic. As such, it can be viewed by others. Someone could intercept your wireless network traffic and view your messages.
