The first two documents referenced above are part of the State of Wisconsin Department of Electronic Government contract with Charter and have been approved by the DEG legal staff. The first document includes the words: "Authorized Purchaser acknowledges that a copy of the Modem Agreement has been made available to it and that it has read, understands, and agrees to abide by the terms of said Modem Agreement." This document is available in the DoIT Resource Center, Room B214, 263-2572.

This contract is not mandatory. Customers may acquire services outside the scope of this contract either from this vendor or from another vendor. UW and State purchasing regulations allow purchases of up to $5000 per year without a contract or bid. Before ordering services outside this contract, check with the vendor to insure that they will accept a UW purchase order and bill properly against it.

This contract is intended for general home use. Other products may be available from the vendor that are more appropriate for use at remote UW offices or sites serving many people.
