Questions to ask
The following questions reflect the type of information the My UW Service Team needs in order to understand how best to serve you. Please provide as much information as you can with your initial request.
- What is the purpose of the request?
- What is the source application system (e.g., payroll, etc.)?
- Has the application been reviewed for accessibility issues?
- Is the application currently using NetID login authentication or some other form of authentication?
- Who are the target recipients (e.g., student, faculty, staff, instructors, advisors, applicants, etc.)?
- What unique recipient identifier (e.g., ID, PersonID, SSN) will be used?
- Will data that will be displayed in the portal contain sensitive information? - If YES, what is the information (e.g., SSN)?
- Are there any known privacy or security considerations?
- Are there any special requirements for look and feel within the portal? (Please review the Style Guide for parameters.)
- Where would you like to present this information within the portal?
- Will test data be provided for development of the application and for other testing purposes?
- How will you announce this new service (e.g., Wisconsin Week, department newsletter, My UW login page) and/or would like assistance from the My UW Service Team in announcing it?
- Do you plan to support your application with the portal yourself or will you need assistance from the DoIT Help Desk? (Note: We ask that you contact the Help Desk 30 days in advance of the launch of your module to provide sufficient time for documentation preparation, training of Help Desk agents, etc. For more information about obtaining support, contact Wanjiru Pontes at (608) 262-0284 or wpontes@doit.wisc.edu.)
- What is the preferred target date for initial delivery?
