WiscList : Applying for WiscList
Before applying for WiscList, verify that you meet the eligbility requirements. Please note this page describes the application process for regular WiscList applicants only. If you are a UW student representing an RSO, please click here for information pertaining to your application process.
To apply for WiscList, click on Apply in the WiscList menu on our website at http://www.doit.wisc.edu/lists/wisclist. Then, click on General Application Form. You should see a form with the following fields:
Full Name
Please provide your first and last name.
Campus phone
Phone number where you can be reached on campus. If you do not have a campus phone number, please provide the best alternative.
Contact email address
Email address where we can reach you
Contact email verified
Type in the above email address again, for verification purposes
UW Department name
Department you work for
Site name
The desired name of your site. A site is a collection of mailing lists; a site name similar to your department is a good idea. You cannot use spaces, but underscores ( _ ) are allowed.
Password
Desired password for your site. This will only be used by you to administrate the site, such as adding or removing mailing lists.
Confirm password
Type your password again, for verification.
Agree to WiscList's terms and conditions by selecting "Yes" in the drop-down box, then click Submit to submit the application. WiscList administrators will review the application, and upon approval, send you an email notifying you the site was created. This will take 1-2 business days. You can then login at http://lists.wisc.edu with the site name and password, and create your first mailing list. Be sure to check out the Getting Started tutorial at this point.
