University Heads Email Lists

Several electronic distribution lists make it easy to communicate with University academic and administrative heads. Faculty and staff can use these lists to send University information to key people, who can be asked in turn to forward the email to their faculty and staff. They may only be used to distribute general University information. Use of these lists is free and you may send a message to one or more of the email lists.

Budget, Planning and Analysis, with DoIT as a backup, will moderate use of the lists. This oversight enables staff to follow up on undeliverable messages, maintain current email addresses in the lists, and ensures that only University-related information is released.

BPA's oversight of the lists will introduce a slight delay in distribution (24 hours maximum) for which you should take into consideration when planning a mailing. The service is available Monday through Friday, and messages sent to the lists after 3 P.M. will not be released until the following work day.

What to include in a message
Email messages sent to these lists must have a completed subject line. Be sure to include the sender's name, department, and phone number in the body of the message. The header will reflect the sender's email address, not the list name.

How to send a message
Address your message to: LISTNAME@LISTS.SERVICES.WISC.EDU, where LISTNAME is one of the available email lists (for example: AC-DEANS@LISTS.SERVICES.WISC.EDU).

For more information about these lists, contact Mary DeYoung (BPA) at 263-4570 or John Nagler (DoIT) at 262-9196.
