5 Easy Ways to Use Learn@UW
Each semester, more than 1000 instructors discover the benefits of having a course Web site in Learn@UW. Whether you teach online or on-campus, it's likely that you will find something in Learn@UW to assist you with your instruction.
Here are five quick things you can do to enhance your students' experience. Click on each heading for step-by-step instructions.
1. Add a welcome message
Use the News Tool to post an introductory message to your students. Welcome them to your class, explain how you intend to use Learn@UW, and describe how you prefer to be contacted.
2. Add a photo to your profile
Add personality to your online presence by posting a photo in your profile. Here's a chance to show your students a casual or formal glimpse of you prior to meeting in person.
3. Post your syllabus
By keeping your most current version in Learn@UW, you save time and cost by letting your students print their own copies if they lose them.
4. Use the gradebook
Surveys have found the Gradebook to be the most valuable aspect of Learn@UW to students. Save time and maintain student privacy by securely distributing scores to students through this tool.
5. Solicit feedback
Create a secure message board and ask students to provide suggestions, give comments, or ask questions about the course.
