InfoAccess

Getting Started with the InfoAccess Service

Note:
If you want to use the UW-Madison Query Library, and do not want to write your own queries, you do not need to go through the process described below. Instead, please see the document UW-Madison Query Library

If you are interested in writing your own queries using data from the InfoAccess Data Warehouse, follow the steps below.

  1. Activate Your InfoAccess Account
    -Fill out an InfoAccess Account Activation form
    -Submit the form electronically.
    -DoIT Security will confirm receipt of your request and notify you of your InfoAccess User ID and password.

  2. Get authorized for Data Views
    -Refer to Data View Docs for a complete listing of available data views.
    -Complete the InfoAccess Data Authorization Form
    -Print and sign the form(s)
    -Route the form(s) for review and approval by your supervisor, divison representative and data custodian.

    Once all signatures have been obtained, DoIT Security will notify you via e-mail when your authorization is complete.

  3. Connect to Hyperion
    -Connect to the Hyperion Production Environment through the UW-System Authentication Hub
    -Select your campus from the drop-down menu
    -Select "Hyperion" as the application
    -Enter your local campus credentials (e.g. NetID and password for UW-Madison)
    -Check the box labeled "Save my campus and username"
    -Click the "Login" button

    -Click on the "InfoAccess" folder
    -Click on the "InfoAccess Production" link
