Services - Duplication Service

The DMC offers a CD/DVD duplication service for UW-Madison faculty and instructional staff. This service is offered once per semester, free of charge for faculty and instructional staff members using the CDs or DVDs for instructional purposes.

  1. You must provide your own supply of DVDs or CDs. Additionally, the duplicator has a 10% error rate. You must provide your own media PLUS a 10% error supply. (i.e. If you request 100 DVD copies, you must provide us with 110 DVDs.) If the error supply is not needed it will be returned to you.
  2. See below for the time frame to complete your duplication request. Please plan to get your materials to us accordingly if you need them by a particular date. (300 disc maximum)
    • < 50 Copies - Up to 1 Week
    • 51-300 Copies - Up to 2 Weeks
  3. CD/DVDs are duplicated on a first come, first serve basis. If we have a full queue of requests, we may ask you to leave your contact information so we can contact you when the queue has an opening.
  4. Materials will be duplicated for instructional purposes only. Preferably to be distributed to students in a time-table course.
  5. Only the duplication service is free. Printing can be done at a cost. (Visit our Printing page to learn more.)
  6. You must provide us with an exact replica of the CD or DVD you want duplicated. A consultant can sit down with you to create this, however we will not create your master disc from files on a hard drive, flash drive, etc.

Recordable media is available the DoIT Tech Store. If you plan to print on your media be sure to purchase "printable" media.

When you drop of your materials to us you will be asked to sign a form stating you agree to the terms listed above. We will contact you via your preferred method when you discs have been duplicated.
