Data Center

Data CenterSystems & Network Control Center (SNCC) provides support for hardware, applications and networks that are housed in the DoIT Data Center. They ensure that new services are designed, implemented, operated and supported for the UW-Madison campus and UW-System customers.

Data Center HardwareThe Data Center has two main responsibilities – the Network Operation Center and Systems. Both are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Network Operations Center is responsible for UW-Madison campus network connectivity and for monitoring the WiscNet system including K-12 schools, UW-Systems campuses, the Wisconsin Technical School system, community libraries, and city and county governments.

Data Center Systems maintains 375 servers across 17 different operating systems. Services include Web portal, mail systems, calendaring, campus wide backups via Tivoli Storage Manager, and more.
