Windows Wireless Printing

You need to know what lab you will hooking up to so that you can input the correct printer queue and printer drivers when asked:

Note - you may need the Windows OS CD that came with your computer in order to complete the installation.

Windows XP

  1. Go to the Start menu, select Printers and Faxes.
  2. In the window that opens, click Add a printer.
    Click Next.
  3. Select the Network Printer option, then click Next.
  4. Select Connect to a printer on the Internet, and in the URL: box type the correct printer address, found in the table above.
    Click Next.
    If it asks for a username, enter your NetID for both your user name and password.
  5. A box may come up informing you that a printer driver is not installed - press OK.
  6. Select HP in the left pane. In the right pane, select the appropriate printer type, found in the table above. Click OK.
  7. If prompted for file locations, enter your Windows OS CD - or you may need to download and install the correct HP LaserJet drivers from the HP website if they are not already on your system.
  8. Decide if you want this to be your default printer, then click Next.
  9. Click Finish.

Windows 2000

  1. Go to the Start menu, select Settings and then Printers.
  2. In the window that opens, double-click Add Printer then click Next.
  3. In the dialogue box that opens, click Network Printer, then click Next.
  4. Select Connect to a printer on the Internet, and in the URL: box type the correct printer address, found in the table above.
    Click Next.
    If it asks for a username, enter your NetID for both your user name and password.
  5. A box may come up informing you that a printer driver is not available - press OK to install the driver on your computer.
  6. Select HP in the left pane. In the right pane, select the appropriate printer type, found in the table above.
    Click OK.
  7. If prompted for file locations, enter your Windows OS CD - or you may need to download and install the correct HP LaserJet drivers from the HP website if they are not already on your system.
  8. Decide if you want this to be your default printer, then click Next.
  9. Click Finish.
