Mac Wireless Printing

You need to know what lab you will hooking up to so that you can input the correct printer queue and printer drivers when asked:

Mac OSX (10.4+)

  1. From the Apple Menu, select System Preferences | Print & Fax.
  2. Click the plus sign to add a new printer (click the lock to unlock the panel if the plus sign is grayed out) this should open the Printer Browser.
  3. Click on IP Printer.
  4. Change Protocol to Line Printer Daemon.
  5. For the Address, type the correct address, found in the table above.
  6. For the Queue, type the correct queue, found in the table above.
  7. Change Print Using to HP. Select the appropriate printer type, found in the table above.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Exit the Printer Browser and System Preferences.

Mac OSX (10.3)

  1. Open the Mac harddrive, then go to Applications | Utilities | Print Center.
  2. Click on Add. (If you have no printers installed, you can skip this step.)
  3. Click on IP Printer.
  4. Change Protocol to Line Printer Daemon.
  5. For the Address, type the correct address, found in the table above.
  6. For the Queue, type the correct queue, found in the table above.
  7. Change Print Using to HP. Select the appropriate printer type, found in the table above.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Exit the Print Center.

Older versions of Mac OSX

  1. Open the Mac harddrive, then go to Applications | Utilities | Print Center.
  2. Click on Add Printer.
  3. In the drop down menu, select IP Printing (for Mac OS 10.1.x, select LPR Printers Using IP).
  4. For the Printer Address, type the correct address, found in the table above.
  5. Uncheck Use Default Queue on Printer.
  6. For the Queue Name, type the correct queue, found in the table above.
  7. Change Printer Model to HP. Select the appropriate printer type, found in the table above.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Exit the Print Center.
