As part of its redesigned website, Research Data Services is launching a series of four videos in which campus CIO Bruce Maas and several UW-Madison faculty and staff discuss current and future challenges in research data management.
“One of the things that’s changing on the national landscape,” says Maas in one video, “is that our funding agencies have taken an active role in essentially requiring us to have a data-management plan in place.” Other videos introduce research-data sharing, long-term preservation of data, and describing research data for research collaborators.
Research Data Services (RDS) is a cross-campus, all-volunteer organization whose mission is to improve UW-Madison’s research competitiveness by improving research-data management on campus. RDS offers data-management consulting, training, and referrals.
