Disaster Recovery

Preparing yourself for recovery from a complete system failure is essential to maintaining maximum availability of your computing services. The following links pertain to this in combination with Bucky Backup (TSM). Please note you must be a Bucky Backup customer in order to make use of these documents.

The supported Windows disaster recovery methods make use of the Automated System Restore (ASR) functionality introduced in Windows XP & 2003.

Information by OS

  • Windows 98, 98SE, ME -- No supported disaster recovery methods. Reinstall your OS & Bucky Backup (TSM) client, then restore any needed files after-the-fact.
  • Windows NT 4.0 information, provided by Berbee. Please email Kevin Flynn if you would like a copy. Ask for disaster recovery instructions for Windows NT 4 in conjunction with TSM backups. The instructions are verified to work, but unsupported by DoIT.
  • Windows 2000 information, provided by Berbee. Please email Kevin Flynn if you would like a copy. Ask for disaster recovery instructions for Windows 2000 in conjunction with TSM backups. The instructions are verified to work, but unsupported by DoIT.
