Realms of work

The IT Architects have several broad “Realms of Work” under which we organize our projects. A list of these realms and short explanations of each follow:

Architecture Across the Enterprise
Working on broad campus communication, the relationships between IT Architecture and various constituent groups, aligning Architectural efforts across groups

Budget Process Improvement
Working on processes and projects that will improve the budget process

Content Management
Establishing a framework and understanding around all of the various realms of content management. Gathering requirements for specific solutions

eLearning Initiatives
Efforts surrounding learning technologies especially integration of systems

Enterprise Tools
Work on tools that make the enterprise work more efficiently - collaboration tools, integration of these tools

Enterprise Workflow
Track the demand for and feasibility of a broad / non-silo enterprise workflow solution

ERP Implementations
Activities with various ERP implementation teams especially around integration, identity management, access to data, business process modeling and BP improvement

IT Portfolio
Defining a framework for our IT Portfolio management process, establishing the appropriate governance, policy and technologies to implement the IT Portfolio

Identity and Access Management
On-going work around Identity and Access Management

Operational Support
Work on tools for a more unified development and production environment

Research Computing
Investigative work around the National Cyber-Infrastructure Initiative and explorations of Research Computing needs
