IT Architecture
The IT Architecture group works with technology planners and decision-makers (such as
project managers and IT administrators) from the campus community, UW
System, and within DoIT to shape campus technology
directions. We help to:
- assess UW-Madison's information technology environment
- identify standards and
architectures that support that environment
- guide the improvement of the
campus IT infrastructure
- align projects with the university's Strategic
Mission-related initiatives
These services are made available without charge. We initially
focused on the development of middleware services, such as messaging, directory,
authentication and authorization, but we have expanded our focus to include inter-system integration technologies
and business process analysis.
Through campuswide forums, project teams, presentations, participation in
research studies, and publications, the Architecture group works to foster
the timely development of IT systems and services on which the University depends.
