Project: My WebSpace Online Training
Customer Need: Provide My WebSpace tutorials for faculty, staff, and student users with a variety of experience levels.
Solutions:
Description: In the spring of 2007 the My Webspace service contracted with PTE to develop an online tutorial for its web-based file storage service. Since that time, there have been more than 24,000 visits to the training site. "We are very pleased with the final product. It has been well received by our (faculty, staff, and student) customers," says Cathy Riley, My Webspace program manager.
With My WebSpace offering free webhosting space for these faculty, staff, and students, DoIT needed explanations of the functionality and features of this service that were both informative and engaging. A simple webpage framework combined with Flash-animation narratives accomplished these goals.

Project: Project Startup Status and Tools (PSST) Training
Customer Need: Provide training for a project-tracking tool for the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), helping users to understand its usefulness and the ways in which they can utilize it.
Solutions:
Description: As a web-based application meant to allow browsing and editing of information on DoIT's various projects, the Project Startup Status and Tools (PSST) site is a centralized resource for managers, project managers, and project team members to document the goals and progress of their projects. Within the tool's many functionalities, the option exists for a person to stay updated via e-mail and RSS. PTE was asked to develop a web-based training for PSST. With such a variety of features, the training required a combination of textual explanations and Flash-based walkthroughs of the tool's usage.
