Laptop Checkout
Try wireless computing. There are now multiple locations on campus where wireless laptop computers are available for loan to anyone with a valid UW ID for free. Each unit comes equipped with basic productivity software that allows you to:
- write a paper
- create a spreadsheet
- spot-check your WiscCal personal calendar and email
- update, post or review class notes and project deadlines
- schedule meetings and study groups
- get the latest word on events at the campus unions
- catch up with weather, business and world news.
Wireless computing offers the bonus of convenience and mobility to laptop users who want a network connection beyond the reach of cables and wall jacks. When on campus, you're never more than five minutes away from the nearest wireless access area. Check out wireless locations.
Laptops are also available for rent for UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students by the day, week, month or semester.
